The Premium Wisewool Body Pillows are crafted to last from these local and imported materials:

  • Calico cotton - drawstring bag (we make these in-house)
  • DO NOT machine wash the pillow.
  • We recommend removing the wool fill and washing the pillow casing as you would with any other white, cotton laundry. Washing in cold water will ensure no shrinkage.
  • Whilst the wool is out of the cover, take advantage of letting it breath and catching some sun. Wool loves the sun as much as it loves the fresh NZ air. The rays will naturally deodorize, disinfect, and renew your bedding. Alternatively, you can gently hand wash the wool in warm water with a wool detergent and let drip dry.
  • NOTE: You might finds traces of 'vegetable matter' such as grass/straw/thistle embedded in the Wisewool. Some do make their way through the double-scouring (washing) process, but they should soften and not feel prickly. We think they are a reminder of how pure and natural the Wisewool is 💚

Firmness guide: Medium to Firm. Remember, you can easily adjust the comfort level by removing or adding wool fill. Give the pillow a good shake and fluff up to rebalance the fill.

New Zealand sheep are renowned for having the whitest, strongest and cleanest wool due to a combination of climate, care and expert farming practices. Wisewool engineer their Tairawhiti Gisborne farmed strong wool into resilient 'Clouds' which deliver a comfortable, supportive and shapeable fill - with a long lifespan.Most importantly, as one of nature's most renewable resources it's nice to know that wool is better for our planet too vs synthetic fibres and feathers.

Japara cotton fabric is a natural product which is made of quality cotton infused with a natural wax. It is then finely woven into a very durable cloth with a thick texture plus a silky feel and look. It is also found to be less susceptible to liquids and other staining elements. The tightly woven construction of Japara cotton fabric provides a luxurious feel, hypoallergenic and moisture-wicking properties.

FAQs

There is a 'sheepie aroma' that some people notice more than others. The scent is evidence no bleach or other sterilising chemicals have been used in the scouring process, ensuring the Wisewool Cloud Wool is as pure as it can be - which is the way we want it.

We have learned it is possible to neutralise the lanolin aroma by allowing the Cloud Wool to air in the sun, if you are open to giving this a try. One way to do this is to empty the wool into something like a laundry basket and leave outside in the sun, and mix it up every now and then. Customers who have tried this say they no longer have issues with the aroma.

Unfortunately we don't have the ability to air out the wool in our workroom environment, or expose it to the suns rays - and this is the same situation inside the Wiseool factory in Te Poi.

We think the world should be focused on sustainability and leave out the nasty stuff like plastics, synthetic fibres and feathers where you just don't know how they were produced or what they contain. That’s why we use natural materials to create our product line and partner with New Zealand businesses to source them.

We are raising the standard of manufacturing and low-impact supply chains to create quality products that enhance your lifestyle and help keep the planet beautiful.

Great buddy

Got the Buddy curve pillow and pillowcase to help me with recovery post hip replacement. It's been a dream to use as perfect for me when sleeping on my side or to prop me up to sit in bed.
Also got the linen eyemask, very cosy and great for when i was in hospital with all the blinking lights.

The perfect solution

I am delighted with this locally produced product. I purchased the Buddy Pillow (and pillowcase), which is the perfect length for what I need. It arrived promptly and beautifully packaged. Bought one of these as I'm a side sleeper with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibro who has difficulty getting comfortable. I'm around 177cm tall and the full sized pillow is a good fit. Having something to wrap myself around like this has given me access to a wider range of sleeping positions and I wake up feeling less stiff than I used to. Takes a little getting used to (especially if you roll over a lot like I do), but worth it. Also, the wool filling did not disturb my allergies at all (usually wool makes me sneeze).

This is a high quality product! I absolutely love this pillow!

Stunning product! Unlike other bulky body pillows I have tried this is a perfect size. It’s narrower and not too long. With the beautiful linen pillow cases it looks lovely on the bed during the day rather than having to store it away. I get a sore back in bed and this pillow has transformed my comfort and sleep. I love it so much i purchased a second one for the bach. It was a little over stuffed for me so I removed some of the lambs wool stuffing. This was super simple to do and the pillow is now perfect. Great quality beautiful NZ made product. Highly recommend! :)

really is kind!

Got a buddy pillow as a present, Chris himself dropped it off after I flicked a mail that I want to make sure it arrives on time. The pillow is well loved since and I'm really happy I could find something local instead of those cheap looking ones around the big shops. I would purchase it again if anybody asks and highly recommend it.
